GENERAL CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Aquaclean® and SAFE FRONT® protects fabric from even the toughest stains, simply clean with water.
Remove any excess residue on the fabric with a clean damp cloth and apply clean water over the stain, either directly or using a damp cloth. Wait a few seconds then press down over the stain with the clean damp cloth and rub gently over the fabric using circular movements. Repeat the process as required.
It’s important to regularly vacuum the upholstery with a soft brush attachment to keep the fabric in the best condition.
- For spot cleaning tough, dried in stains use water with a little neutral liquid soap (max 5% solution), repeat if necessary. Protect from excessive sunlight and avoid contact with strong heat. Do not use bleach, strong chemicals, toxic substances, acids or solvents.
- Clean up spills and stains right away, the longer stains are allowed to remain the more difficult they are to remove.
- Strong or neat alcohol if not cleaned immediately may cause damage to the fabric.
- Do not soak or over wet the fabric as this may cause further staining and damage.
- After cleaning allow to completely dry before use and then gently brush with a soft brush in the direction of the pile.
- Please be careful when wearing heavily dyed clothing (such as jeans) on a light sofa, especially
if the clothes are damp. If dye transfer does occur, call a furniture cleaning specialist ASAP.
When dealing with any stain it is important to always test an inconspicuous area of the fabric first to ensure the treatment will not cause permanent damage. If in any doubt specialist upholstery cleaning advise should be obtained. Please note, KOUCH are not liable for any damage caused by a third party.
DEEP CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Aquaclean® includes SAFE FRONT® which is effective in reducing the build-up and activity of viruses, however if disinfection cleaning is required the following is recommended:
Spray a 70% alcohol solution on the fabric surface about 30cm away. Any sanitary alcohol can be used. Wipe over with a dry cloth and remove any excess. Do not soak the fabric and avoid rubbing the surface in an aggressive way. Antibacterial wipes and sprays suitable for upholstery can be used following manufacturers guidelines.
The use of bleach and soap solutions is not recommended. Soap can leave residues causing discolouration and odour.
IMPORTANT. Although this fabric will resist most types of staining under normal contract conditions it does require regular care as described. Spills that are allowed to remain on the fabric for long periods of time can cause damage and in rare cases may not be completely removed. Aquaclean drastically reduces the chances of fabric staining although
we are unable to guarantee against all types of staining and marking.
ASSEMBLY GUIDELINES
Each KOUCH module is connected with weather resistant powder coated male and female brackets. These enable change in configuration as required. Be sure to check they brackets are fastened securely before you put any weight on your KOUCH. If you decide to move your KOUCH, unhook the bracket, and move each module separately.
SCATTER CUSHIONS
To prolong the life of your scatter cushions, we recommend regularly giving them a good plump, turning them over, and swapping their positions. Flip your cushions a couple of times a week, and once a month, unzip the case and beat the edges to redistribute and plump the fibre. Foam and fibre cushions will flatten with time, so regular plumping is essential to maximise their lifespan.
LEGS
To avoid any annoying rocking and potential damage to the frame, make sure you place your sofa on a level floor. We suggest using felt pads to protect wooden flooring from scratches. Make sure the legs are screwed in correctly to evenly distribute weight on the sofa and check regularly to ensure they haven’t spun out of position. If you find they have shifted, use the fixing screws to secure them in place. Avoid over-tightening the screws in the legs, and dragging furniture as this can cause damage to the legs.
GENERAL CARE
Whilst our KOUCH products are made from durable outdoor fabrics with high colour and light performance, they are not waterproof and, therefore, should not be left outside for prolonged periods of severe and wet weather conditions. This will cause the pieces to become saturated and soiled. We do recommend that the pieces are either covered with a waterproof cover (which can be purchased from our KOUCH website) or are dismantled and stored indoors.
FIRE SAFETY
We make all our furniture in line with UK Law. Fabrics are treated to ensure fire safety in accordance with the Furniture & Furnishings Regulations as well as European Laws. The foam in the cushions is also treated with fire-retardant chemicals.
Upon delivery, you may catch a whiff of the treatment – but fear not, it will fade away after a few days out of its wrapping.
